Movie buff, Erin, has outdone herself with her dedication to her studies at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC), immersing herself in college life and opportunities.
Her true passion is for filmmaking and studying on our Creative Media course has solidified this interest, giving her invaluable experience for her future career.
Erin talks about her greatest achievement at RuTC as winning a student award, being hand selected from a pool of other potential winners, she was thrilled to come out on top. Her lecturers rave about her success,
“Erin is a model student with the right kind of ambition, attitude, and motivation!”
Reflecting on her achievement she comments, “I think being the best person I can be makes me the happiest person I can be, and I like to work hard as I am extremely passionate about my course, so I want to do well in it.”
Alongside her studies, Erin keeps herself busy as a student representative for her class, liaising with senior staff members on ways to better improve student life at RuTC. To further express and immerse herself in her love of tv and film, she started her own film club, where members critically evaluate films they have watched every week and are hoping to work on a practical creative project together in the future.
Specialist teachers
Taking advantage of the services available at RuTC, Erin has been able to work on her applications and employment skills with the help of our dedicated staff base.
“I suggest studying at RuTC because of the facilities as we have a lot of technology available if needed and the teachers specialise in their subject, so you know you are getting taught by someone who knows what they are talking about.”
Erin’s dream job is to become a film director and she’s prepared to put in the work to achieve her goal. Her immediate plans after leaving college are to study at the Liverpool Media Academy (LMA), launching into the next stage of fulfilling her potential.
Her final words of wisdom are:
“Hard work pays off and it doesn’t go unnoticed.”
