What makes Peyton extraordinary is her broad spectrum of interests, which Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) has been able to accommodate. Often seen around college with her guitar strapped to her back, she is a keen musician and composer.
Studying Music Technology for the past couple of years has helped Peyton in her musical pursuits, including performing at a German music festival amongst other talented players in 2023. Whilst there, she had the chance to tutor some German music students, adding another string to her varied bow.
South London based Peyton is also a passionate scientist, deciding on Biology and Chemistry as her other A-Level subjects. Looking into the future she is excited by a career path in pharmaceuticals or something within the biotech pharma field.
Peyton’s inspiration comes from those closest to her within her family, particularly her older sister, who she honours for her hard work and huge effort in her own pursuits.
Friendly atmosphere
Involvement in extracurricular activities was a big part of Peyton’s college experience. Being an active member of the debate team has been particularly significant, seeing her compete in regular debate competitions across the country.
Speaking enthusiastically about her time at college, Peyton says, “Everyone at RuTC is so friendly and amicable. If you choose to study at RuTC, you won’t regret it.”
Much like those who inspire her, Peyton has high expectations for herself, leaving RuTC this year to study Biotechnology at university, continuing to work towards her career goals.
Her final words of encouragement to other students are, “Don’t give up and be confident!”
