Poppy has an extraordinary talent. Her passion for dance and expressing herself has helped her grow into a confident and creative individual, becoming one of the top performing arts students at RuTC.

Poppy

London born and bred Poppy has diligently developed her skills and ideas through her coursework, and in multiple assessments and shows throughout her time at college. She works hard, both in and out of class, to cultivate her craft and be the best dancer she can be, eager to keep learning and improving. She is a leader among her peers, as well as a team player and a devoted friend.

Poppy speaks of dance as an outlet that helps her manage her feelings and communicate more effectively, “Dance has always been in my life since I was little, and it has made me who I am today. A confident, happy, well-rounded and passionate person. I feel like I can let my emotions run free when I dance, communicating naturally through movement and performance.”

Focus and you will succeed

Poppy is inspired by her dance teachers and the positive influence they have on her life and studies. She cites her greatest achievement whilst at college as creating intricate solo and group choreography, which has been performed in dance shows for large audiences.

Spoilt for choice with university offers, Poppy’s next steps after college are leading her to Kingston University to study BA (Hons) in Dance. She dreams of becoming a dance teacher in the future, working with children to help build their creative and performance skills.

Noting that pursuing her passion has resulted in great success and happiness in her life so far, she proudly advises others, “Be yourself and never let someone change you. Keep focused and you will succeed.”
