Access to Higher Education

Our Access to Higher Education courses provide students over the age of 19 with a qualification to help them progress to university, without the typical entry qualifications.

Our one-year courses attract students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds and are taught engagingly and holistically to give our students the knowledge and skills they need to make a career transition and successfully progress to university and the workplace.

Access to Higher Education programmes are designed for students who are aged 19 and over as of 31 August.

Most Access to Higher Education courses can be completed in one year and you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan, to help you pay for the course.

Level 3 - Access to HE Diploma - Art and Design

There is also an Access to HE Diploma - Art and Design (ACRADF) offered under our Art and Design courses subject area.

You will learn study skills, in areas of research, essay writing, speaking and listening, responding to a brief, art history elements, preparing for higher education, as well as specialist areas in Art and Design, with access to ceramics, 3D, printmaking, photographic studios and creative digital software to support your chosen specialism.
