The View Training Restaurant is Richmond upon Thames College's new commercial restaurant, with amazing panoramic views across London. Here, our talented trainee chefs and waiting staff serve fine dining lunches and dinners to a variety of local charities, businesses and people from Richmond, Kingston, Hounslow and surrounding areas.

Our students also have the opportunity to work in the college's canteen and coffee shop, creating and serving lunch every day to our staff and students. This gives them the opportunity to experience different aspects of the hospitality industry.

Hospitality careers are driving job growth, as UK employment hit a record high in 2023, according to an article in leading catering magazine, The Caterer. There is a 10% shortage of head chefs across the industry and a 21% shortage of production chefs, which means that there is a need for employees in these areas and wages are on the rise too.  You can read more about these insights in The Caterer.
