Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) is one of London's longest established academic and vocational colleges.  


Offering courses for 16-19 year olds and adults, with a strong reputation for achieving excellent results. It is more than just a college, it is a place to mature, challenge yourself, enhance your skill set, discover your passion and experiment while getting the support, guidance and encouragement you need to be the best you can be.

RuTC merged with Harrow and Uxbridge Colleges in 2023 to form HRUC. You can find out more about the merger on the HRUC website.

  • Range of courses: our curriculum offer includes A-Levels, Vocational and Technical courses, Apprenticeships, Access to Higher Education and Higher Education, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and courses for adult learners such as AAT Accounting. 
  • Student Experience: there's so much more to life at college that goes beyond your course and you can decide how much you want to experience. There are clubs and activities that you can join, enrichment programmes and a Student Union and Student Voice you can be part of to really enrich your time at college.  
  • Student Support: we have an abundance of support to help you get the most ou of your time at RuTC. Every student has a designated tutor who will support them throughout their time at college. There is a wonderful Student Services team that offers counselling and welfare services and additional learning support for those who need a little extra help.  
  • Excellent facilities: our campus in Twickenham boasts a new building that opened in 2020 with specialist classrooms and studios, a new sports field, a new-look sports centre and gym that are due to open in early 2024 and a STEM Centre that will be open for September 2024.
  • Location: we are located on a large campus opposite the world famous Twickenham Rugby Stadium. Our students come from all over London and enjoy studying and training in our friendly and encouraging environment.
