The Level 4 course covers a range of key areas, including:

  • Applied Management Accounting
  • Drafting and Interpreting Financial * Statements
  • Internal Accounting Systems and Controls

    These core units of study are assessed at unit level.

    Optional units:

  • Business Tax
  • Personal Tax

    You will also develop business communications and lifelong learning skills, applying what you learn on the course to the wider industry context.
  • Entry requirements

    You must have a sound knowledge of accounting principles to undertake the AAT Level 4 programme. Achievement of an AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is essential.

  • Who is the course for?

    This course is ideal for accountancy staff who wish to gain a professional qualification and for students (aged 19+) progressing from AAT Level 3 with a Merit.

  • Study methods

    The aim is to provide a good theoretical understanding of bookkeeping and accounts, and to reinforce learning with simulated workplace assignments. In addition to College attendance, students must be prepared to commit to at least five hours study time per week.

  • How is the course assessed?

    There is a computer based exam for each of the 5 units.

    Once enrolled, you will be required to register with AAT and pay the student membership fee directly to AAT. Students will also need to buy their own books – the tutor will give you details. Resits exam are also chargeable.
