  • Entry requirements

    A proven interest and enthusiasm in any area of art and design. Minimum requirements: 4 GCSEs at grades D/3, ideally including an Art, Design or Media subject at grade C/4, OR Level 1 Diploma at Merit or Distinction with GCSE English at grade 3 AND a good portfolio of art and design work.

    Students who have not passed English and/or Maths at GCSE or Level 2 Functional Skills will be required to retake the subject(s) as part of their full-time study programme.

  • Who is the course for?

    This course is for those who wish to continue to develop their creative ability across a range of disciplines. With a view to continuing in art and design at a higher level or enter the world of work in creative industries.

  • Study methods

    You will be taught in both a classroom-based environment, as well as in our subject specialist art studios and workshops, such as ceramics, 3D workshop, photographic studio and darkroom and printmaking workshop.

  • How is the course assessed?

    The course is continually assessed against four core units plus four specialist units of study. Competence must be proved in all areas of study and units before being allowed to work on the Final Major Project which forms the final grade at Pass, Merit or Distinction for the year.

  • Where Next – Job Opportunities

    You can work in a variety of roles within the art and design industries.

  • Where Next – Further Studies

    On gaining a Grade Merit or Distinction you will be eligible to progress onto UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in either Art and Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Games Design or Creative Media Production.
