Entry requirements
Minimum requirements are 5 GCSEs at grade 9- 4 (grade C and above) including English and a subject relevant to your chosen area of study at grade 4. OR the Level 2 Diploma at Distinction/Merit plus GCSE English at grade 4. A proven interest and commitment to music.

Who is the course for?
Turn your passion for performing music into an exciting and rewarding career. In this UAL course, we look at the skills and strengths that you bring and develop them, helping you to reach your full potential. You will be developing yourself in several different fields to become a rounded professional, proficient enough to undertake roles in areas such as music performance, production, song writing/composing, event management (including tech roles) or business. This approach is what will make you an employable musician in today's challenging industry.

Study methods
You will be taught in both a classroom-based environment, as well as in our state-of-the-art music studios.

How is the course assessed?
You will develop as both a performer and as a music producer, collaborating with other members of your group on different projects throughout the year. Projects will take many forms, including composing music for local events and videos, as well as working in Heatham House studios. You will perform original and cover material in local venues and take a role as sound engineer in the drama and dance productions. You will focus on developing your own role throughout the year and this will lead to your final project where you will be asked to sum up all the previous skills learned.

Where Next – Job Opportunities
Students may gain employment in the music industry in a number of roles, as a performer, a producer, composer, or live/studio sound engineer. Alumni include the band members of Kula Shaker and Dave the rapper.

Where Next – Further Studies
The majority of our students go to the best universities in the country for music and music technology including Leeds University, Point Blank and BIMM. Some students will go straight ino the industry or Apprenticeship.
