    5 GCSE’s (including English and/or Maths at grade 4 or above.

  • Who is the course for?

    This qualification is designed to prepare learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding to enter work in an early years setting's (day nurseries, pre-schools and reception classes etc.) and be fully included in staff to child ratios.

    This qualification includes both knowledge and skills that meet the Department for Education Early Years Educator (DfE EYE) criteria in full and map to the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) within the Early Years Educator occupational standard ST0135 in England.

  • Study methods

    You will study via a range of classroom activities, independent research, tasks and assignments, combined with and consolodated by skills and knowledge gained from a setting placement.

  • How is the course assessed?

    This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured via a portfolio of evidence. You will also be assessed in practice, as this qualification requires you to complete a mandatory work/industry placement experience (350 hours) throughout the duration of the qualification, before certification.
