    Performance workshops are all designed to help improve your skills, confidence and performance ability.
  • Entry requirements

    The course is perfect for students with 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including English and Maths at grade 3. If necessary, you can retake a Maths or English GCSE to compliment your studies.

  • Who is the course for?

    This one year course is for anyone with and an interest in learning more about acting. Whilst experience is useful, we welcome anyone with an enthusiasm and passion for the subject area.

  • Study methods

    Throughout the year you will discover your strengths as a performer whilst finding out more about professionalism and the industry itself. You will study rehearsal, performance and production skills in a course designed to help you progress to the next step. Each term you will work towards a performance project designed to develop you as a performer and showcase your talents.

  • How is the course assessed?

    You will be assessed in regular performances taking place in the specially designed theatre or at other exciting venues such as local schools when learning about theatre for children and at external professional events.

    Alongside performing you will create scrapbooks and keep an online blog to document your journey as you prepare for each performance.

    You will work on the New Views National Theatre Script writing competition and take part in live projects with theatre around the borough, whilst also learning screen acting skills for use in TV and film.

    You will work closely with the creative media department, working on green screen productions and internal and external productions.

  • Where Next – Job Opportunities

    Successful students can work in a range of roles, these may include working in creative industries such as screen acting, stage performance, directing, teaching, script writing, producing, designing or working in arts management and administration.

  • Where Next – Further Studies

    UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Performing Arts, specialising in acting, dance or music.
