Course units include:
- Principles of anatomy and physiology in sport
- The physiology of fitness
- Fitness training and programming for health, sport and wellbeing
- Acquiring skill in sport
- Coaching for performance
- Sports development
- Fitness testing for sport and exercise
- Work experience in sport.
You will also have the opportunity to achieve the CYQ Level 2 Fitness Instructor Award as well as various Level 1 coaching certificates (at an additional cost).

Entry requirements
6 GCSEs grade 9-4 (grade C and above) including English, or a relevant Level 2 course with anatomy and physiology for sport at Distinction. You must be able to provide an excellent school report/ reference.

Where Next – Further Studies
Progress from the Foundation Diploma (first year) onto the Extended Diploma (second year) in Sport. On completion of the course you can progress to higher education course at university, start and Apprenticeship or go into the workplace.
