This Level 3 Diploma in Computing is a 2 year course.
In your first year you will study 6 units, including 4 mandatory units plus 2 chosen units to suit the needs of local employers.
The Mandatory units are as follows:
- Principles of Computer Science
- Fundamentals of Computer Systems
- IT Systems Security and Encryption
- Business Applications of Social Media.
Plus these two units: - Computer Games Development
- Managing and Supporting Systems.
In your second year you will study the following mandatory units: - Planning and Management of Computing Projects
- Software Design and Development Project
- The Impact of Computing.
Plus two chosen units: - Human-computer Interaction
- Object-oriented Programming
- Virtualisation
*Computer Networking.
You are also expected to carry out 30 hours work experience in both the first and second year.

Entry requirements
5 x GCSEs with grade 4 and above including English and Maths.

Who is the course for?
This course is designed for students who are 16 - 18 years old as well as 19+.

You will be taught through a range of lectures, practical exercises, laboratory sessions, group work and independent work.

How is the course assessed?
Some units will be externally assessed through a range of formal exams and supervised assessed tasks. All other units are assessed through assignment work.
