If you are interested in pursuing higher education opportunities but are unsure about taking on a full degree for three years, or you may not have the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree, then a Foundation Degree may be an appropriate option for you.

Foundation Degrees are nationally recognised qualifications. They allow students to gain transferrable academic skills and practical, first-hand knowledge in a shorter timeframe than a traditional degree.

Foundation Degrees have been created in partnership by universities, further education colleges and employers. They attract A-Level and equivalent Level 3 leavers and mature students.

  • Study methods

Teaching includes lectures, work based learning activities, presentations, tutorials, on line learning, workshops and seminars. In addition you will be supported by a work based professional advocate and a personal tutor.

  • How is the course assessed?

Progress is measured by assignments, demonstration of professional competence in work-based situations, and practical demonstrations that apply the knowledge you have gained through your study and research. There are no written exams, you will have 100% coursework submission.
