Life Skills can be studies at Entry Level 2 and/or 3. Once you have applied, we will talk to you about which level you will start at.
All students will do the following:
- Functional Skills in English, ICT and Maths at the relevant level
- Independent living skills including managing money, planning and going on trips, making a simple meal, sport, healthy eating
*Work experience – up to 2 weeks work experience. Work experience can be near to home and our past students have worked for Tesco, British Heart Foundation charity shops and Marks and Spencer food hall - Working in the college's Supported Learning shop 'Serious Snacks'
- Working in the college's Supported Learning vegetarian cafe, 'Apple Tree Cafe'
- Working in the college's Supported Learning garden.

Entry requirements
Minimum Requirements - successful interview, satisfactory reference and completed Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Who is the course for?
This one year course is for students with moderate learning difficulties and disabilities who have a higher level of independence.
You will need to be motivated with a mature outlook to pass qualifications that will enable you to progress to other courses within Supported Learning, mainstream courses or Project Search. -
Study methods
Work experience is a compulsory element. Students will learn to travel around London in a fun and educational way. The course stretches students to become more independent away from familiar home areas. Students may be able to progress to an internship or mainstream education eg Skills for Vocational Studies (Level 1 certificate).

How is the course assessed?
You will complete a series of assessed assignments throughout the course, together with practical work in literacy, numeracy and IT.

Where Next – Further Studies
Each learner is encouraged to think about what they would like to do in the future and to concentrate on maintaining a high level of attendance and punctuality in all lessons as well as working hard to complete all the qualifications needed to progress. In the past students from Supported Learning have progressed to: Construction, Carpentry, Childcare, Hospitality and Catering, ICT, Project Search or within Supported Learning to the Adult Independent Living group.

Cooking: £30 per term. Course resources including printing and photocopying: £30 per year.
