Learners will have the opportunity to work towards improving their English and Maths skills, appropriate to the individual learner, as well as undertake work placements which can be supported by our Job Coach.

Entry requirements
No formal qualifications are needed but candidates will be required to complete a baseline assessment, interview and provide evidence of working at an appropriate level.

Who is the course for?
This is a higher-level course for students who may have already completed Skills for Independence and Work Entry Level 1 or for school leavers and young adults with moderate learning difficulties who wish to improve their employability skills.

Study methods
Courses are delivered within the Foundation Learning Area in small group sizes that range from 6 to 8 and include embedded Maths and English, Personal And Social Development, Social and Communication Skills and a programme of enrichment activities.

How is the course assessed?
Learners will achieve 9 credits from the ONCL units. The objective of this qualification is to support learners to develop the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours for future employment and independence.

Applications for a place in Supported Learning require the young person to be in receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Where Next – Further Studies
Progression will be explored at the yearly annual review. Learners may move onto an Entry Level 3 course dependent on personal development and ability.
