Students at Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges are celebrating their excellent achievements, as results for GCSE and Level 2 vocational qualifications have been released.

Across the college group there have been hundreds of students sitting a range of GCSE subjects and results are up on last year with high grades in many areas. This includes many students who have benefitted from the opportunity to improve their GCSE English and maths grades after joining college from school last year.

BTEC and UAL Level 2 vocational qualifications also saw strong results which is testament to the efforts of our industry specialist staff who provide students with the skills and knowledge they need for progression routes to Level 3 or for their move into employment to start their first career.

These GCSE and Level 2 results enable students to access excellent opportunities to progress onto higher Level 3 qualifications including A-Levels, T-Levels, vocational career-focused courses and into apprenticeships. This set of results also complements the excellent A-Level and Level 3 results achieved this year

Gavin Hughes, Principal, Richmond upon Thames College, said:

“I am extremely proud of the students achieving well above national average for their GCSE results. It’s also lovely to see how many students have appreciated the support our staff provide to help them achieve their future career goals.”

Celebrating the results Keith Smith CEO, HRUC said:

“We are so proud to be a part of our students’ journey, enabling them to take the next steps towards their future goals. Our colleges offer a fantastic opportunity for students to come from a range of different backgrounds, progress at college and go on to extraordinary things.

Students have worked so incredibly hard to gain these qualifications and my congratulations to them all. Their achievements are also testament to the support of our incredible staff who go the extra mile to ensure students can do their very best and move onto the higher-level courses and careers they want to pursue.

Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College really is the place for students to thrive and progress and I am delighted to see that in these results. I am also excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for our Level 2 achievers as they go onto their choice of A-Levels, T-Levels, Level 3 vocational qualifications, apprenticeships or venture into their first career.”

For students receiving their results who don’t necessarily have the grades needed to start the course they want, there are lots of courses, apprenticeship and progression opportunities available. Student, Muhammad, who achieved exceptional results in his exams, commented:

"I really enjoyed my experience at RuTC, and I'm very happy with my grades. My teachers were all really supportive as they helped me with all the challenges I faced during my journey and never let me feel as if I was new to the college. I really relished my whole GCSE- Science Pathway journey and it's all due to the fabulous staff members. I hope to study medicine in the future and complete my graduation from one of the top ranked universities in the world such as Oxford or Cambridge. RuTC played a major role in my exam success and I'll always be thankful for that."

Access to Higher Education courses are one-year programmes designed for people returning to education, preparing them with the skills and knowledge to progress to higher level qualifications at college or university.
