Jack Petchey Awards MusicMusic student, Luka Brajovic, at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) has won a Jack Petchey award for excelling in his course. Luka is currently studying Level 3 Diploma Music Performance and Production course.

The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme recognises the positive contributions, efforts and endeavours of young people aged 11-25 across London and Essex. These achievements include being a great role model, volunteering, overcoming personal challenges and supporting others over and above expectations.

Each term exceptional students are nominated by their classmates to win a Jack Petchey award. The winner receives a £300 grant, which can be used for anything that will benefit the class.

Luka won this award for showing passion for his craft and having massive professional potential. At college, he is hardworking, very friendly and is also determined to learn and become a better musician. His peers have named him as inspiring, ambitious, someone who grabs opportunities and has an exciting future ahead.

Jack Petchey Music TutorMusic tutor, Peter Garvey, spoke of his student's success:

“Luka has made excellent progress on the Music Performance and Production course, making rapid progress as a guitarist, songwriter and producer. He did not study music last year but has caught up very quickly. He is always willing to play for extra-curricular events and his ambition and dedication are very pleasing.”

Outside of college, Luka participates in concerts, live performances, writes his own music and has started a band.
