Over the last month, some of our Media students at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) have been working on a film for the West London Film Competition 2024, hosted by the JGA Group.
Those involved were Level 3 Extended Diploma TV & Film students, Rob Flynn and Alaa Dahham, and Level 3 Diploma TV & Film students, Erin Green and Duru Kalaman. Together they created a short film titled ‘Creativity Grows,’ exploring the creativity of people (specifically creative students at RuTC) in West London. Their film placed 3rd out of multiple entries, a fantastic achievement!
Student Alaa spoke of their success:
“I’m proud to say that we’ve made something that hit the big screen, and placing 3rd is a position that I am proud to have reached.”
Erin followed up:
“I am proud of what we have achieved, and we’ve learned that we can make something great in such a short time.”
Media tutor, Rhys Slyfield commented on his students’ brilliant result:
“I am really impressed by the hard work that these four students have put into this project, and we’re looking forward to next year’s competition!”
