students and teachers posing at the end-of-year art exhibitionArt and Design students at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) worked hard to produce their final pieces of work for their end-of-year exhibition. The exhibition covered a variety of different themes and briefs and was displayed throughout the RuTC campus building. The exhibition began with a private view for students’ families and friends at the final open event of the year in June, where there was lots of delight and enthusiasm for the artwork presented.

A few classes within the cohort also had their works showcased in local art galleries and museums, for the public to view.

Each student spent many weeks developing an individual response to the brief about travel and tourism in Richmond, creating works ranging from ceramics to textiles, digital art to drawing and photography to painting. The event was launched with a speech by Vicky McGrath, Learning and Audience Development Officer at the Museum of Richmond, who acknowledged the skills and imagination of the students at RuTC.

visitors at the Orleans House Gallery Art Exhibition, Experimental Resolution.Students studying the UAL Level 3 Foundation DiplomaHNC Level 4 Graphic Design and Access to HE - Art and Design students have their final major project, ‘Experimental Resolution’ displayed at Orleans House Gallery, in Twickenham. This is part of a partnership between Richmond Arts Service and RuTC. Students worked with established artists and sector professionals since February to develop their artistic practice and knowledge of becoming working artists. For this exhibition, the artists presented a range of visual language, responding to the theme of ‘experimentation’. Their work included painting, photography, sculpture, architecture, interior design and graphic design. Our students took on all roles to produce the exhibition, including marketing, interpretation and project management, and creating the artwork. View the exhibition at Orleans House Gallery until 7th of July 2024.
