She maintained 100% attendance and put 100% effort into her studies to always do her best. She is an inquisitive learner and an inspiration to her classmates.

The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme recognises the positive contributions, efforts, and endeavours of young people aged 11-25 across London and Essex. These achievements include being a great role model, volunteering, overcoming personal challenges, and supporting others over and above expectations.

Each term exceptional students are nominated by their classmates and teachers to win a Jack Petchey award. The winner receives a £300 grant, which can be used for anything that will benefit the class outside of necessary materials, which are provided by the college.

Her tutor, Frankie, said of her success:

“Aliesha’s commitment to helping and supporting others never goes unnoticed. During her time at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC), she has developed confidence, independence, and reliability. She is also a helpful and mature student who has overcome barriers and works incredibly hard to produce an excellent standard of work every time. Congratulations on your achievement, Aliesha!”
