Our Business students have been busy getting involved in the Young Enterprise programme this year, supported by Business Curriculum Lead, Ryan Ali and Young Enterprise volunteer, Mark Langston.
Young Enterprise is a national charity who specialise in Enterprise Financial Education. They work directly with young people, teachers, volunteers and influencers to build a successful and sustainable future for all young people.
Participating students at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) have been working hard to establish their Young Enterprise company, elect roles and refine their business idea to bring to market. They meet weekly in the college boardroom to discuss, plan and create their brand in this exciting new venture.
We are pleased to announce this academic year, our Young Enterprise group have formed a company called ‘Safe When Drinking (SWD)’. The learners will launch a product which is a low-key, high-quality drinks cover, designed to be transportable, reusable and endorsing a sustainability aspect that confines to the Young Enterprise ethos.
The group will be pitching their drinks cover product and have the chance to hone their sales and marketing skills over the next month, when they plan to set up stalls in Kingston and Spitalfields Markets.
Ryan commented, “The Young Enterprise programme at RuTC engages young learners with the skills it takes to run a business and prove to themselves that they have what it takes to be an entrepreneur.”
