Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) was proud to present our final Jack Petchey award of the calendar year to Level 3 Health and Social Care student, Jasmine Ramzan.
Jasmine won this award, as during this first term she has emerged as a committed learner, who thoughtfully and actively listens during lessons. She is also a very supportive student, always looking out for friends and can be commended for having 100% attendance since the beginning of the academic year.
On top of this, Jasmine is using her own experiences of having a hearing impairment to support others outside of college. She is currently learning British Sign Language to be able to support deaf young people in the future, when she hopes to become a social worker.
Jasmine's tutor, Natasha, and the rest of her classmates were incredibly proud and happy to congratulate her on her success. The class is also looking forward to spending the £300 prize money on something exciting and beneficial to their learning.
Jasmine commented on her achievement:
“I am incredibly honoured to receive the Jack Petchey Achievement Award. I am truly grateful for the recognition. Winning this award reminds me of the little actions that have a meaningful impact on others.”
