Earlier this month, the Travel & Tourism department at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) participated in an ‘Awards Day’ to celebrate the success and achievements of its students and staff over the last 12 months.
The department has much to celebrate, as in the last year they welcomed new teachers, congratulated long-serving staff members and were rated as outstanding by the Corporate Leadership Team. At RuTC we pride ourselves on our teaching staff excellence and our Travel & Tourism lecturers very much reflect this, all having either at least 15 years' teaching or industry experience as well as strong links with industry employers.
Attendees at the event reminisced about the fantastic trips and events the department has been involved in, including a fun-filled day out to Thorpe Park, a visit from inspiring alumni students and an insightful cultural trip to Barcelona.
Outstanding students were then presented with awards, acknowledging their academic achievements, high attendance levels and general excellence.
Coming up, our learners have many exciting opportunities to look forward to in the next few months, comprising of a ‘Culture Day Celebration’, guest speaker visits and an exciting trip to Italy. These opportunities are organised to help develop our students’ learning and gain new experiences to help prepare them for life after college.
