Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) recently partnered with financial services company, Allianz, to host two separate events at the college when England played at Twickenham during the Six Nations 2024 tournament. These events took place in RuTC’s wonderful college restaurant, ‘The View’, which is situated on the 4th floor overlooking Twickenham Stadium along with far-reaching views across the whole of London.
Level 2 and 3 Catering and Hospitality students, led by RuTC’s brilliant teaching staff, prepared, cooked and served a delicious three-course meal for Allianz representatives and over 100 guests.
Front of House lead, Daniele Giraud, commented, “It was amazing to see our students do so well in such a high-profile professional event.”
The events were a huge success, bringing together a mix of rugby fans to create a real buzz around the exciting games with high profile guest speakers sharing their insights and anecdotes to entertain guests. For the England v Wales match on 10th February, speakers included former England rugby union player, Lewis Moody MBE and former Welsh rugby union player, Shane Williams MBE. On Saturday 9th March for the England v Ireland game, the guest speakers were Mark Cueto MBE, former English international rugby union player and Stephen Ferris, former Irish rugby union player.
